Sustaining Member Consultancy Services
The Institute of Metal Finishing is recognised internationally as the repository of expert knowledge in Surface Finishing, whether it is plating, painting, coating, thermal spraying or vacuum deposition. It can call on expertise worldwide to resolve any technical or scientific problem that you may have. This could include:
- Design advice for engineers and specifiers
- Application of new technology
- Independent technical advice
- Advice on legislative and environmental issues
- Trouble shooting
- Process improvement
- Product evaluation and testing
- Supply chain advise for specific coating or finishing requirements
- Expert witness advice
Technical advice can sometimes be funded by using the services of the Manufacturing Advisory Service, a service provided by the DTI. So if you have an enquiry that needs substantial time commitment then please be aware of this intervention mechanism which could provide you with free advice and a solution to your problem.
The IMF also has a Project Management Group which will be happy to coordinate support across a range of issues and from a range of industrial and academic sources. It is also sometimes possible to including funding!
