The Future Group
What is the "Future Group"?
The future group has been established within the IMF in order to encourage new or younger members to participate in the future growth of the Industry and the Institute. The aims of the group are:
- To provide a focal point within the Institute with which typically younger people in industry and academia could identify
- To provide educational and training opportunities for this target audience, increasing awareness and competence for the benefit of both the individual and the employing companies/organisations
- Through professionally organised and presented activities, to attract people to join the Group and, possibly the Institute
- The Group would seek to promote the benefits of Institute qualifications in providing a more competent and motivated workforce within the industry, thereby securing ongoing and long-term support of the Institute by employers
The scope of the new group covers all technology areas, and the program of events that has been arranged covers business-related areas (such as pricing, finance, design of experiments, careers in the industry, and so on) as well as technological ones.
The Group aims to be proactive and needs the input of newer, enthusiastic members to spread the word and ensure the growth of the Institute.
